This pub was originally an old cellar and has a fascinating history associated with it. It’s tiny and gets packed fast. Good selection of food and drinks are reasonable prices. Very friendly and warm staff.

Great atmosphere. Music reminded me of French pubs. Euro electronic music.

Good atmospheric bar. Relaxed, good prices. Heard and saw first hand food excellent but did not personally partake. Great place to stop and regroup after a day scoping out the lower old town and harbor.

Fascinating history of the house combined with easy going nature of the pub makes for an enjoyable experience for all kinds of cultures. Be sure to try the beer they have specially crafted for the pub, Belgian blond was our favourite. Our second visit here in as many trips, and it was more fun than the first

I was told this place was a "must" on my trip to Quebec City, particularly for the mulled wine. It was fine. Not very warm but they were willing to heat it up for me. If you're going during peak hours, keep in mind that there are two rooms. Check the room to the right of the entrance if the main entrance looks too crowded.

A must go experience if in Quebec City. Food and beverages were nice, but secondary to the setting. Worth going and recommend reading up on the history of the site.

Stumbled by this unassuming place during a huge snow storm and was a perfect place to find. The smell of wood burning in the fire place plus the maple whiskey shots that were up sold with our pints of beer was exactly what we were looking for. The old brick interior was home to a storage facility for war supplies back in the 1705 said the staff. Really cool.

The place was very interesting. The drinks were great, the staff was friendly, everyone sat around and played games at the table, the food wasn't very good. Go for the ambiance not the food.

Very cool place. Visited in January. We sat by the fire and took in the ambiance. The vaulted ceilings are beautiful. Ordered the hot wine and it was fantastic.

The best homemade french onion soup I’ve ever had! We ordered the brie salad and wine as well. Loved the atmosphere and their services. Everything was perfect for our first-year wedding anniversary.

Lovely place. It's an old cellar and the moment you enter you're wowed by how cool it is. If you're one who likes cozy, different and cool bars, this is a great one. I would also suggest trying their French Onion soup. If you're one who loves that extra cheese, these guys don't disappoint.

Nice place to have a beer! Stout was just perfect, creamy and very tasty, onion soup (soupe d'oignon) was also pretty good.

It's a unique-looking place for a cool pub experience. We visited at around 10PM but the kitchen was already semi-closed at the point. We had the pizza and wings. The pizza was decent but I wouldn't reccomend the wings - very oily, the meat was dry and wings were tiny (they absorbed a lot of oil so it tasted like they were re-fried).

This was a very cool bar! Defiantly had a different vide due to the way the building is, but it feels like you went back in time to an old tavern. The place was hearted by a wood fore place and was perfect in the winter when we were here. The staff was very friendly and spoke French and English. They also have one of the best French onion soups I’ve ever had. I definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area! I will be back if I’m ever in Quebec again!

In Dec every place is warm while it's like a freezer outside.it does affect your rating. I'm trying not to let that affect my review. Its a nice little bar where the kitchen is behind the bar. They have no official kitchen space. So service is very slow because only one guy is the cook. Food looks good but i didn't like the taste of the nachos. It was blah.cured meat sandwich was good.

Bien! This is a nice cozy place with a wealth of history and a great atmosphere. When everything else in Old Quebec is seemingly closed this place is open. Read a lot a out it and it lived up to the reputation. Beautiful historic building, great stone inside and the staff is great. Definitely unique. A good place to come solo for a destress and time alone, also a good place for groups (as shown by the constant patronage).

Dark, old style brick combined with a mellow atmosphere. A welcome escape if coming in from a cold Quebec City day or evening to warm up with some drinks. The establishment is old and you can tell. History oozes from the walls, old fireplace, and throughout the corridors beyond the main entrance curving into the small, yet expertly stocked bar. Board games and long tables in the back invite extended evenings amongst friends, old or new, playing, laughing and conversing. One can easily spend a decent amount of time in this convivial bar, as the prices are affordable and meals are also served. Fill your belly with a piping hot French onion soup and beer. Not a huge selection, granted, but curated to its expected clientele.

Similar feel to Bistrot Pape but a bit more quaint. Interior all old brick, walls and ceiling; very cool. Walking to basement bathroom is like going to a “clean” dungeon. Modest liquor and beer selection. Had the crab cakes which were mediocre. Highly recommend for a cocktail.

Great atmosphere and the service was incredible. We loved the food and beers!! This is the perfect spot to relax with friends. The ambiance it’s superb. The smell of an open fire just added to the experience. We went on weekday and the place had some locals and regulars having a great time. It’s a must place to visit when in Old Quebec.

Highly recommend coming here even for the history. It's a 400 year old pub and apparently one of the oldest in North America. The service was great, and accommodating to our English. The cider and the beer in the picture were good, and the food was excellent. I suggest getting the housemade french onion soup. When we walked in, I noticed almost every table had the soup. Very yummy! Zero complaints about my experience.

Great staff, great local beer selection, and an ambience that's found nowhere else! (At least in North America) Loved hanging out there and didn't want to leave! It's also just a little ways from the touristy chaos so you can relax and unwind a bit.

It's small but worth it. Old cellar turned into a pub. Has an "Inn of the Prancing Pony" feel to it. Good selection of beers. Few but good apps.

Cozy inside, with a welcoming fireplace(a nice escape from the frigid winter temperatures). We both ordered the French onion soup, which arrived when we started getting the feeling back in our fingers. The soup was fantastic; they're definitely not stingy with the gruyere. We also ordered a cured meat & cheese board, which was also very delicious. A nice little selection of local beers to boot.

L’Oncle Antoine is one of my favorite places in Quebec! It’s a tiny, cozy spot just off the main tourist shopping area. The fireplace was roaring and helped warm us up from the cold winter temperatures (that and the full bar!). The staff could not be more helpful and kind. Great service plus they gave several recommendations for other restaurants and bars to myself and many other groups. Such a wonderful place to stop in for a drink (or two or three), a bite of food and good conversation!

Staff is super nice, ask for a local Pub L’Oncle Antoine if you want to taste craft beer, either way ask for draft beer, it’s pretty nice as the ambient.

Great service. Amazing food. Amazing beer and mimosa. What else could one ask for. Nice patio and inside seems like a dig out brick cave. I highly recommend!!We got chicken wings with salad, french onion soup, pizza and fried cheese squares on two different occasions. All yummy 😀Atmosphere: Cosy yet casual.

Stumbled upon this gem after an evening of sightseeing and shopping. Cozy bar with a warm fire packed with locals and just a few tourists. As a tourist, it was fun to chat with the regulars who were very friendly. We didn't order the onion soup, but plenty of others did and it looked pretty tasty.

Extremely cozy pub with very fresh food and a good selection of drinks. The warm fire and low, semi-circular brick ceilings made this a very comfortable spot for food and drink.Prices were reasonable, and the Bartender was very welcoming.Perfect place to visit!

Questions & Answers

It's a place to have a beer, but since they have a bit of food, I guess you can sit your younger one at a table without problem.

Pretty varied! Everything depends. Food from $ 8 to $ 15 plate. Beers: $ 5.25 to $ 12.75 and spirits prices vary. Because of the brands of products and their quantities.

You have to request it I think. Shouldn't be a problem, watched the World Cup finals there

Yes. Only gluten free beer. I went there. Great spot
